SANTORINI BEACHES

Santorini’s beaches are a totally different story of what you might expect. Due to its volcanic landscape, the island’s beaches showcase a unique beauty; crystal clear waters fondles the black and red pebbles found on its shore. Steep cliffs and imposing rocks constitute Santorini’s setting while sandy beaches are also easy to find. 

Situated only a few steps away from the ancient site of Akrotiri, the Red Beach will instantly strike you with its magnificent volcanic landscape. Showcasing red and black hues, the imposing rocks offer quite a spectacle. Going down to the beach is very easy, while there is even a parking space to leave your vehicle before getting down. There are sunbeds and umbrellas to enjoy carefree moments but it's more likely to find yourself rubbing shoulders with a stranger, so taking stunning photos from the headland is always a good option. Snorkeling is highly recommended due to the intriguing rocks found underwater. 
Next to the Red Beach lies the White Beach, featuring the same landscape in white hues. This beach is less organized than its counterpart, thus offering a peaceful atmosphere.Situated 10 kilometers southeast of Fira, Kamari Beach is covered by black sand, while on the left side of the beach you ‘ll find the imposing rock called Mesa Vouno that rises from the sea. The beach is usually packed with holidaymakers due to its crystal waters. There is also a wide range of water-based activities available. But if you enjoy relaxing moments by the sea, there are sunbeds and umbrellas to lay back and take in the summer ambiance. 

On the southern end of the island lies the Perivolos Beach, known for its tranquil atmosphere and the azure waters. On the beachfront, you ‘ll find an impressive array of cafes and taverns where you can unwind in a culinary feast of mouthwatering seafood. Living up to its reputation as the haven for the water-sport enthusiasts, while on the beach pump your adrenaline up with windsurfing, scuba diving and jet skiing.
